- Fumes include metal vapors which have solidified to become small particles, and also smoke particles generated by burning. The fine particles include nano-sized particles, some of which are carcinogenic, and when inhaled these particles can get into the pulmonary alveoli, causing health problems.

- A thermal spraying company
- The customer was investigating dust collection for a thermal spraying booth. They had been using scrubbers and bag filters, but with both of these the filters became clogged within about a week, and the customer had problems with reduced air volume.
- They had experienced filter clogging problems in the past with dust collectors from three different companies. One of our rental dust collectors was used to do a demonstration to confirm that stable dust collection was possible. The customer then purchased and installed a dust collector from us, which has now been in use for 2 years without any occurrence of filter clogging.
- A waste material processing company
- When a plasma cutting machine was used to cut metal to reduce the volume of the waste materials, the fumes generated caused the filter on the customer's dust collector to clog within one day. This caused the power to fall and created a poor working environment.
- When we installed our dust collector, the filter surface area was optimized for the air volume to be processed. This prevented any further filter clogging.
